![]() ChildFund Donny & Marie ConcertCougars for the Community had a rare opportunity to see an amazing show while helping children abroad. December 19th, The Donnie and Marie Christmas Tour make a stop in Columbus this year. We teamed up with ChildFund to educate people on their organization and why it helps needy children abroad. We were able to get many new families to sponsor many needy children. | ![]() Adopt-A-FamilyCougars for the Community participated in Adopt-A-Family this Holiday Season. We volunteered to organize and sort donations for families on December 16th and 17th and for distribution to the families on December 20th and 21st. We had lots of wonderful volunteers show up and plenty of donations. Many families would not have had a Christmas without this event. | ![]() Transit Arts Community ChristmasOn December 16th, Cougars for the Community teamed up with Central Community House and Transit Arts to volunteer at their Community Christmas Event. Santa made a special guest appearance and there was lots of food, pictures and music for the youth and their families. |

![]() NAICCO Thanksgiving FeastOn November 24th and 25th, Cougars for the Community supported Columbus State's club, Students for Peace and Justice, in their food drive and NAICCO Harvest Volunteer Day. The food drive and Harvest Volunteer Days were to benefit NAICCO (Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio.) | ![]() Transit Arts Talent ShowCougars for the Community volunteered at Transit Arts talent ahow and open mic on November 24th. The talented youth did not disappoint and showcased some amazing talents. We can't wait to work more with this wonderful Organization. | ![]() Club FundraiserCougars for the Community hosted a second Bake Sale at Columbus State on Thursday November 21st. We had many wonderful volunteers and donations of baked goods. We sold lots of goodies and raised a great amount for the organizations budget! |
![]() Member Awards DinnerOn November 16th, Cougars for the Community hosted it's first Member Awards Dinner. Members and organization leaders came together to enjoy dinner at Buca Di Beppo. Afterwards, membership certificates and awards were announced. Congrats and thank you to all who came and to all the members and volunteers who made this semester so amazing. | ![]() NAICCO FundraiserOn November 12th, Cougars for the Community aided Columbus State's club, Students For Peace & Justice, with a fundraising bake sale. All proceeds went to benefit NAICCO. (Native American Indian Center of Central Ohio) | ![]() Holiday Mail for HeroesCougars for the Community hosted it's first ever self-reliant event on Veteran's Day November 11th, 2013. We participated in the Red Cross program called, "Holiday Mail For Heroes". The event was a huge success. Our organization made new friends, recruited new members and created over 100 hand-made holiday cards for our American troops overseas to enjoy this holiday season. |
![]() CLCO Leadership ConferenceThe Collegiate Leadership Conference of Ohio was hosted at Columbus State and Cougars for the Community members were there to represent and learn about being better leaders for our professional and academic careers as well as for our organization and community. | ![]() Troops Care Packages FundraiserCougars for the Community aided Columbus State's SEaL Department in the Military Care Package Drive and fundraiser. We helped raise funds and collect donations from October 17th to November 7th. On November 7th, many volunteers organized and packed the care packages to be sent to troops overseas. | ![]() Transit Arts PartnershipOn October 24th, The leaders of our organization met with the Director of Transit Arts and attended their Talent Show. Transit Arts is a part of Columbus Central Community House and is a program for youth to have a place to create art in any outlet they choose. They offer Painting, Photography, Dance, Rap, Singing, Poetry and much more. We had a great time and look forward to working with this organization in the near future. |
![]() Light The Night WalkOn October 12th, Our team walked to cure Cancer. Our team also raised funds before the walk from various donors. Our team met at the event and had food, talked to vendors, networked and just had a good time. Then we walked at 7:30pm and the image of all of those lights walking downtown was incredible. A night we will treasure forever. | ![]() Columbus State Blood DrivesColumbus State hosted multiple Red Cross blood drives on campus throughout the Fall 2013 semester. Each time, Cougars for the Community was there to volunteer and to donate. This volunteer work and our members donations will help the Red Cross save lives. | ![]() National Student Service DayOctober 11th, members of the Latino Community Club, Cougars for the Community, SEaL and other students came to volunteer with to drop off school supplies for needy students at St. James The Less School. We read to them, hung out and talked with them about the importance of education. |
![]() Columbus State 2013 Day of ServiceIn honor of Columbus State's 50th birthday, more than 600 college employees and students took part in community service projects on Sept. 26th 2013. Columbus Stater's and Cougars for the Community fanned out to 50 different organizations that needed our help. Cougars for the Community created fun art packages for sickly children. We made them blankets and cool door art and lots of other things. Then our members delivered all of them to Nationwide Children's Hospital for incoming children. |
